Koh Phayam is a small island in the Andaman Sea, about 85km west of Ranong, Thailand. The island is approximately 8km long and 2km wide. Koh Phayam is one of the least developed islands in Thailand, with few paved roads and almost no nightlife. Most visitors to the island come for the natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere.
There are several beaches on Koh Phayam, the most popular being Ao Khao Kwai (Buffalo Head Beach) and Ao Yai (Long Beach). There are also a few small bungalow resorts and a handful of restaurants and bars. Most visitors to Koh Phayam stay in one of the many cheap guesthouses or in one of the more upmarket resorts.
The best time to visit Koh Phayam is between November and April, when the weather is dry and sunny. The monsoon season runs from May to October, and although Koh Phayam is not as badly affected by the rains as some of the other islands in Thailand, many of the businesses on the island close down during this time
If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing island getaway, Koh Phayam is the perfect place to go.
