Chiang Mai celebrates Christmas with a traditional Lanna style festival called ‘Por Jor’ which features traditional music and dance performances.
Loy Krathong and Yee Ping festival celebrates the end of the rainy season and features beautiful floating lanterns called ‘Krathongs’. One of the most popular places to experience this is in Chiang Mai.
Songkran festival is held every April and marks the Thai New Year. The festival features water fights and street parties throughout Thailand. No matter where you are, you are sure to see many festivities and parties around this time.
Koh Samui has a ‘Buffalo Fighting’ festival which is held every year in October or November. The festival features two buffalos fighting each other in a ring while spectators bet on the outcome.
